Jakarta-based PT AQUILA Media is the publisher of a new-concept women’s lifestyle magazine.
AQUILA Asia inspires with anecdotes and stories of women living the contemporary life; delivers the hottest fashion and beauty trends; and reviews places to visit, eat, sleep and shop – all carefully selected, tailor-made and with respect towards modern and fabulous Muslimahs.
Our target audience is professional ladies who work, live and travel around Southeast Asia. We have a specifically designed, highly appreciative circulation of 50,000 within Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Our Partners are not only companies that provide superior halal products and services, such as in beauty, F&B and banking, but they are also purveyors of luxury goods.
We are inviting qualified individuals to fill three roles. You will be working in South Jakarta.
Jobs Descriptions:
Magazine Editor:
It is mandatory that the Editor has at least five years experience of working with lifestyle publications. Apart from researching, writing, editing and subbing work, this person will also plan for and articulate monthly and annual themes as well as commission writers. You will report directly to the Publisher, liaising to develop, maintain and evolve a clear vision of brand values and position amongst a target market of affluent, intelligent and fashionable professional ladies. Skills with InDesign and Photoshop are desirable.
Magazine Writer
We seek a person with flair for writing, who has a way with words and who can bring out the best out of a wide range of topics. Topics covered range from beauty and shopping, to investigative and interviews. Skills with InDesign and Photoshop are desirable.
Magazine Creative Editor
A resourceful and expressive individual is wanted to develop the magazine DNA including but not limited to with our overall visual metasystem, typography of cover and content, masthead, sample pages, template for quotes, headers and footers, content template, spine design and magazine format. You will work closely with the Publisher as well as the web development team. Skills required include Adobe Creative Suite 4.
For the above roles, you must be able towork with tight deadlines. A keen interest in current affairs and trends isnecessary. Experience working with English publications is a must and time spent with women’s titles is an added bonus. Knowledge of Islam and periods spent with international titles are not a must, but are highly regarded. Immediate start.
